Why Ibiza’s Light Changes Everything for Makeup Ibiza photoshoots

There’s a reason Ibiza has long been a favourite location for fashion shoots, campaigns, and editorials and it’s not just how iconic it is. The light here is soft but powerful, warm without being harsh, and endlessly flattering when you know how to work with it. Espeically in spring and autmun where I get booked mostly for ibiza photoshoots.

From a makeup artist’s perspective, Ibiza light affects everything. Skin finishes read differently. Heavy textures show faster. Over-powdering kills the glow. The goal isn’t to fight the light, but to understand it.

The early morning light and golden hour light are both warm and pick up highlighters and any shine beautifully, this is why I hate to mask that natural skin finish with too much powders. Makeup has to be built with this in mind, whether I’m working on a shoot, an event, or a private client.

This is where experience on the island matters. Knowing how products behave in heat, humidity, and strong natural light is what keeps skin looking fresh, not flat, from day into night.

Ibiza isn’t just a beautiful backdrop. It’s an active part of the final look.
